Default Slow ascent from 10ft?

I have heard that a very slow ascent is recommended from 10-0ft.
Rationale was given as follows:

"You get the largest ratio change in pressure, which relates to the volume of any bubbles that may be in your system.

An accent from 15 feet to the surface produces a 50% reduction in pressure, which means a 50% increase in volume of any gas spaces.

Some guys are using accent rates as slow as 1 foot per minute for the final accent from the last stop depth."

Comments?

OK I guess I can comment. Usually I view this practice as highly recomended, especially after a long deep dive. Possibly a foot a minute is overkill, but that would depend on what you just did for a run. I have seen new divers pop right up after a 15' safety stop and other techies take the 10 minutes. My vote would go for a nice slow ascent.

After a 170' average depth dive, and once our deco obligation has finished, we will do a 6 minute ascent from 20'... so... approximately 3 minutes from 10'.
