The Canal is now frozen over. The viz is down to about 10-15 ft.

With the rain and warm temps today and continuing until tomorrow the ice may be mostly gone tomorrow.

No ice on the canal... where diving is going on. You could hear the left over thin ice break up on the jug as the water flowed with the wind. Water level is up to two inches below the tops of the docks. Visibility was crap by the shore due to run off so expect the vis to be below that 10 ft fro the other day.

Zero viz down to the car at 15 ft. At the shoe line the viz is 2-3 ft and 10 ft on the east side by the other cars. Ice cover is around 4 inches now.

Saw 33f in the canal today. Still very dark with the snow cover. The viz is improving especially in the middle at 30 ft. John and I untied the jug line from it's weight and once back on the surface we cut the jug out of the ice. Run time was around 50-55 minutes.

Here is a couple of pictures showing the current conditions.

The conditions at the canal haven't changed much since the pictures above were taken. The snow cover is gone but as of Thursday night there was still about a foot of ice cover. The viz is down to zero in spots but opens up to around 3-4 ft in spots.
